A group of old ladies managed to turn a corner store into a culinary gem of Vienna. The beautifully decorated interior space of Vollpension with the vintage furniture and friendly environment is perfectly completed by the freshest home-made cakes. The service is impeccable and prices are very reasonable. The shop also offers breakfast, as well as limited choices in meals. The diligent grandmothers do everything they can so everybody leaves their shop with a sweet taste. (To be honest, it is not hard with all these cakes!). Highly Recommended (H)

The American bar is located close to St. Stephen’s square and it is a good option for your night out. The space may be small, but the attitude and atmosphere will offer you a wonderful night! The key strengths of LoosbarQ are the variety of cocktails, the clean drinks, the music and the young people that have fun until late at night. If you are fans of smoking, you can get a cigar from the bar and enjoy it with your drink.  Recommended (R)

“The Ritz Carlton” luxury hotel has a beautiful, smoker-friendly lounge bar, both for its tenants and visitors. The D bar offers moments of peace and relaxation in an area where cigars, suits and low lighting have the first word. The bar offers a wide variety of cocktails, which you can enjoy on the comfortable couches or armchairs. Finally, it is worth mentioning that at the bar’s entrance there is a great range of cigars.  Recommended (R)

It is the most well-known and eminent chocolaterie in Vienna, which resembles Paris’ famous “Angelina” shop. The luxury and exquisite flavors are the two traits that stand out about Demel, while their two strongest weapons are the fresh Sachertorte and the hot chocolate with whipped cream (from real chocolate). You can enjoy the cakes and beverages on the classy first floor or the ground floor with a view of the dessert preparation area! No matter where you choose to sit, the only certainty is that in the “company” of these flavors you are going to have a blast.  Recommended (R)

In the underground space of the Residenz café in Schönbrunn Palace, through a 30-minute show (The Strudelshow) you will learn a lot about the history and the proper way of making the most popular dessert of Vienna, while you will also have the chance to enjoy your own piece.  Recommended (R)

It is the oldest brewery in Vienna, which dates back to 1516. In the two floors of 1516 Brewing Company (smokers and non-smokers) lots of people gather daily to enjoy their outstanding beers. Service and prices are at normal levels, while the brewery also offers limited choices for food. Finally, the choice of beer in a jar(!) better serves large groups, as well as those that drink it like water.  Recommended (R)

The Christmas Street Markets of Vienna could not be missing from our list! In the open markets, apart from the stands that sell gifts and souvenirs, there are a lot of stands with food/desserts and mulled wine. It is customary that during the holidays lots of people swarm these markets to experience the magical atmosphere of Christmas. Get inside any market that you might come across and get a taste of their delicious delicacies.  Recommended (R)

The café/restaurant that we found on the ground floor of the Prater Park is a tourist trap. The Wiener Riesenrad (Prater) serves dishes, desserts and beverages of bad quality to the park’s hungry visitors. Prices are very high and service follows the general quality of the establishment. The only positive trait is its well-kept and bright space.  Pass (P)
