The popular shop Koukouvagia could not be missing from the places we visited. The café-bar is located next to the Venizelos’ graves and it has been for years a trademark for the city. It became known for two things. The first is the fantastic, panoramic view of the city of Chania and the second one is the fluffy chocolate-dessert by the name of “Zoumero”. It is worth mentioning that, nowadays, “Zoumero” is not its strongest asset (it used to be amazing, as many locals confirmed). Its interior spaces are very well-kept and full of owls (koukouvagia=owl), of all kinds. Meh (Μ)
Our suggestion: the dessert “Zoumero”.
Our order: 1 Zoumero & 1 Lemonade. Total cost: 7.2€.
